Celex Drug is an antidepressant. It’s part of those drugs called SSRIs which means selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.
What the active ingredient (citalopram) of the Celexa Drug is supposed to do is to affect chemicals in your brain that become unbalanced and therefore are causing depression.
As a minimum before taking it be sure you are not allergic to citalopram. Ask your doctor! Other reasons not to take the celexa drug are if you are using MAO inhibitors like Marplan, Nardil, Furoxone, Azilect and others. You don’t want to get sicker do you?
This is a quite powerful drug so even if you have heart disease, congestive heart failure, anything related to the heart, low levels of potassium or magnesium and even past episodes of Long QT syndrome in the family you should talk to your doctor about it and start from there.
And if all of the above is ok, don’t overdose yourself! Follow strictly your doctor’s advice!
